A B O U T
 
Michael Collazo is an international UK-based artist and PhD researcher at the Glasgow School of Art, working between Glasgow, London, Chicago, and Seattle. His practice centres on figurative drawing, exploring how grief, memory, and emotional endurance take form through mark-making and repetition. With a deep interest in the ways images hold presence and loss simultaneously, his work invites reflection on what it means to remember, and to keep remembering.
 
Drawing from both fine art traditions and the visual language of comics, Collazo creates narrative-rich compositions that move between intimacy and distance. His drawings function as quiet memorials, often rooted in personal history while resonating with shared human experiences. Recent work has been exhibited in galleries, artist-led spaces, and independent art fairs across the UK and US.
 
His research-led approach have attracted the attention of those interested in contemporary drawing practices that navigate the space between presence and absence.
